2024 One-Day Seminar Registration

Our One Day Seminar will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 and starts promptly at 9 AM.

Are you thinking about keeping honey bees and want more information? This one-day informational seminar will give you an overview of the considerations you need to help you decide if beekeeping is for you.

 

This is an informational seminar and is not intended to be a beginning beekeeping course. If you are planning to keep honey bees, you will want to attend our Beginning Beekeeping Course that starts in January. Scroll down to access the registration form.

The one-day seminar is designed as an overview of beekeeping. Topics include:

​

  • Benefits of keeping bees

  • Basic honey bee biology

  • Equipment and tools needed

  • Products of the hive

  • Local pollen and nectar sources

  • How you can help pollinators

  • Do you want to be a beekeeper?

​

This seminar is only offered 'in person'.

 

The One-Day Seminar is scheduled for:

When:                    Saturday, November 9, 2024

                               9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Where:                  Exhibition Hall at the Howard County Fairgrounds Dining Hall, West Friendship MD

 

Registration Fee:  $30 per person; Children 8-14 yrs of age attend at no charge with a paying adult.

Registration will open in August.  The session is scheduled to start promptly at 9:00 AM.
